Arriving at a furniture design solution always involves balancing stylistic and ergonomic parameters with beautiful materials. From color, light and shadow, pattern and texture the process of selecting a piece for your room can be tricky. It's important to add pieces wisely. The setting and arrangement that a piece is placed in is critical so please feel free to contact Vain to discuss the ideal product for your room. Custom sizing, finish and upholstery are also available.
When deciding on materials for a piece, I seek out fine-grain, highly stable and dry lumber that found it's way into a Northwest lumber yard, demolition project, or a cabinet shop waste bin. I work with douglass fir, walnut, cedar, teak, Asian bamboo, Indonesian and South American hardwoods ,windows, doors, and decking scraps. Old posts and beams, flooring and wall boards are poured over for the best quality raw materials.
